Deriving its name from Xanadu, the fabled hideaway of Kubla Khan and Zen, the impenetrable ancient Buddhist religion, Zenadu combines mystery, tranquility with room to get your ya ya’s out.
A vacuum in the Yukon summer festival season has been created with the hiatus of the Alsek and Atlin festivals this year. The newly created Yukon Society of Independent Thought feels they have just what the Yukon ordered.
The Zenadu Music Festival will take place July 9th to 11th at Paradise, formerly Black Mike’s mine, located 25 minutes south of the Robert Service intersection on the Alaska Highway.
Gates and beergarden open at 6pm Friday July 9th with Daniel Ashley warming the vibe till 8pm
 
Afternoon programs will be a mix of folk, jazz and mellower summer sounds. Evening programs will be licensed and feature rock, blues and jam.
Bands slated to appear areThe James Murdoch Band, The Burning Hell, Razbah (FORMERLY PLAID), Death in Venice, Speed Control, Kung-Fu Aliens, Common Knowledge, Parker Thomas Jazz, The Bluegrass Babes, Patrick Leithbridge, Electric Cheese, Eric Epstein, Nicholas Mah, Johnny Pogue and the Colleens, Bushwhacker, Brenda Lee K, Deer Cadence, Jim Vautour, Big Mama LeLe, Roxx Hunter, Ben Mahony, Angela Fraser, Rad Badical, Krew 52, Tribal Belly Dancer.

We will have face painting for kids, kite building, a fortune teller, craft and food vendors.
 
We will be offering a shuttle bus service from Whitehorse to the site and from the site back to Whitehorse. Contact us to book a seat.
The bus will leave the parking lot of Mark and Paddy's on 4th avenue in Whitehorse heading to the site at 6PM sharp on Friday July 8th. Please book ahead.
The bus will also be available for those camping at the Marsh Lake Campground.
Some camping is available onsite contact us for availability.
 
There is a government campground 10 minutes from the site. You will have to book a spot ahead of time with the campground. Please check here for availability

Tickets are limited and available at Mark and Paddy’s Wondrous Music Emporium or the Funky Fine Foods hot dog cart, at 3rd and Main, any sunny day around noon.
Bring a chair, change of clothes, a hat, bug dope, rain gear and whatever else you think you may need for the weekend.
Bring a good attitude to the festival. Bad vibes will not be tolerated at Zenadu.
This is a cash only event. There are no banking facilities on site, no Visa no Debit.
